Buff Laced Polish
Buff Laced Polish chickens are a, docile, and, ornamental breed known for their stunning, golden-buff plumage with white lacing and, a large feathered crest. They are, lightweight (4–6 lbs), rare, and primarily kept for exhibition or as pets.
Appearance: They feature a distinct V-shaped comb, often hidden by a large crest of feathers.
They are decent layers of small-to-medium white eggs (approx. 100–150/year) but are poor foragers and not cold-hardy.
Temperament: Gentle and friendly. But can be easily startled, or timid due to obstructed vision from their crest.
Hardiness: They are heat-tolerant, but, struggle in cold damp conditions, as their crests can freeze or become waterlogged.
Care Needs: Due to their limited eyesight, they are not ideal for free-ranging, and, need protection from predators. Their crests may require trimming or cleaning.
Origin: While named for Poland, this breed was developed in Holland.
